MonsterCon 2019 - 40k doubles results

Another fine weekend of wargames at MonsterCon 2019. The tournament introduced the first ITC doubles format to the country and it was a splendid success by all accounts. The reports from all the competitors seemed up beat and positive, which is great feedback to continue with the format. Plus the 3 games my team played was probably the some of the best action in 40k on the table top for a fair while. Some truly spectacular games were played.

Thank you to all the competitors and the Umpires that helped to make the tournament such a enjoyment. Also a massive nod to our sponsors for making it happen as well over the weekend. Spellbound Games & Vagabond Games are champions, and their links will follow the post. Go and shop with them as they will have exclusive discounts for the tournament faithful and also some awesome pricing for your hobby needs.

Here follows the results and big ups to those new and familiar to our tournaments. Come join us for more fun in our future events. Congratulations to all the victors!!.

Equinox 2019 - Warhammer 40k results.

What a fantastic weekend of gaming for the IX th edition of the Equinox tournament. I have not seen a gathering of such spectacular painted armies in a while. Played in good spirit the tournament was relaxed and very enjoyable from the feedback got among the competitors and the Umpiring team.

With the W40k scene growing exponentially here in Auckland and around the country. We will definitely make sure that we have more space at our next few events. Tournaments we hold are there to develop and grow the community. If you get a chance, do come and enjoy a weekend of fun with like minded fellow Wargamers.

We had a very good variety of different codex armies, and that made for some very good competitive matches played throughout the event. It was also encouraging to see a Ork army leading into Day 2 of the competition and bar the final game that army would have been the Champion. So here is the results and congrats to the Victor and also the whole entire field for showing off our hobby to all those spectators in such a good light!

MonsterCon 2018 - W40k doubles

Doubles is just the right mix of hobby and enjoying the experience with a mate as you negotiate the Grim Dark of W40k combat. GW's 8th edition has given us a great opportunity to hold events that have seen good numbers of hobbyists throughout. Enjoying your hobby is key and doubles gets better and better. The smaller points makes sure you get close to/or completing your game at every encounter and leaving you wanting more. In designing the event, that's exactly what we were aiming for.

MonsterCon this year saw 48 competitors (24 teams) compete in the W40k competition. This fitted perfectly in our regular venue at the Hotel. With catered food and a bar it was the perfect place to host some doubles Warhammer. Big thanks goes to all those who came and competed in the right spirit. Good to also see so many new faces that are either attending tournaments more regularly or starting their hobby adventure with W40k.

Well played to all who competed and grats to the winners.
