Blood bowl team of the week

Ever since the new release of Blood Bowl by GW, my interest in the game has soared. No longer will it be relegated to the almost never played and will take pride of place in the regular section. (I play far too many genres of games :) ) Checking out the amazing work the community of Gamers put out constantly inspires me to get more into my collection. Here's another team one of the guys has finished and it looks amazing.

Equinox Blood Bowl Cup 2017

The new Blood Bowl stuff is amongst us. Let's run a tournament and get the peeps together. That was the idea and we made it happen with this little tourney in Central Auckland NZ. We're sure to get a few coaches and encourage the guys on the fringes to pick up the game. By the way BB is bloody insanely awesome, you should pick it up if you haven't already ;)

With the help of a few great people up here in Auckland we managed to get the very first Equinox Blood Bowl tournament underway at the 'Rose Park Hotel'. Beautiful onsite accommodation for the event, along with Refreshments and Restaurant. We managed NAF fully endorsing our event, so I'm sure the event will be run every year from now on. Thanks to 'Auckland Rose Park Hotel', 'Vagabond Games', 'Livewire Games', & NAF for making it happen.

The weekend  got a good mix of new players and veterans to Equinox BB, the perfect mix. With a lot of potential new players on the fringes looking in, it can only get bigger and better. I can tell you we had a pretty damn good Gametastic weekend. Thank you to the Auckland Commissioners for hosting a boys drinks night out on Saturday too.

Here are the results: -

NAF # Overall
1 Steve Arthurs 19850 Painted, Most TD 18

Wouldn't be a Tournament without some beautiful bling.
Along with the official bling we had a lot of loot to give away to the players.
This included 3 of the New release teams.

Steve takes home the Trophy with a Eldril inspired list.
George gains the 'Hardest Team award with a massive 20 casualties.

The Hardest team tables the Dark Elves completely. Yes, I mean all the Dark Elf team was either injured or knocked out in this drive!!

Jono on his way to winning Best Sportsman. This is with a Skaven team even!

Geoff's Norse Team with a whole bunch of unique and collector miniatures.

Paul had attended the last Bloodbowl world cup.
There was a impressive 912 Coaches there!!

If you go to the BB World Cup, you also get Personalise boards and other merchandise, wow!!

This was the Saturday evening game to finish off the last round.
It was awesome!!

Blood Bowl is back!!

We held our Club intro for Blood bowl release over the weekend. Great interest and even though it was late notice we got some good numbers. Don't worry for those that missed out, we'll be holding events very early next year.

Thanks again to Vagabond Games for helping us provide some sweet giveaways for the day. It was great icing on the cake for all those gamers getting in and finding out what a awesome game 'Blood Bowl' is.

You can use all your old teams. The new teams are superb and will only get more new releases. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. With all the vets around at our club, you'll be well looked after if you want to start or restart your hobby.

Thomas was Champ with a staggering 7 TD's,
over 3 games, to win the 3 way tie at the top.

The old or new, the Teams & Boards can still be used.

Brian playing his first game, found it easy and a superb game.

We had 3 teams that we gave away and a whole heap of prizes.
Here are the prize getters, thks for coming!

Thank you to our sponsors for making this happen.

Ogre Blood Bowl team WIP

Have been caught up in the hype of imminent release of the new release of Blood bowl (due around Dec). I have spare Ogres and went about converting them for another team for the hobby.

The starting team of 4 Ogres and a mass of Snotlings (using Gnoblars)

A few Arm repositions and also a fair bit of sculpting with milliput.

I am quite partial to this as the 5th Ogre.

Thats a complete resculpt and it's begun.

Not too bad for a nights work.

Club Open Day 2015

Probably the first Open day that I've ever attended. Great vibe and many people through the doors to checkout what the terms Gamers and Gaming means sans electronics. What I saw was a big bunch of ordinary people having a fantastic time over the two days of the Open weekend. It was reflected with total attendance hitting the 110+ mark over the two days. Good mix of people and a huge number of games played over the weekend. Check out the pictures of everyone getting their game on.

If you want to come join us for a game, then the Club is open every Sunday from ~midday till 5.30pm. Please visit the Club's facebook page Here.

Great Saturday morning start as keen gamers kicked off early.
We had about 12 tables of Board gaming before lunch.

With all the Club's events, you are welcome to bring your games to share.
