Club Open Day 2015

Probably the first Open day that I've ever attended. Great vibe and many people through the doors to checkout what the terms Gamers and Gaming means sans electronics. What I saw was a big bunch of ordinary people having a fantastic time over the two days of the Open weekend. It was reflected with total attendance hitting the 110+ mark over the two days. Good mix of people and a huge number of games played over the weekend. Check out the pictures of everyone getting their game on.

If you want to come join us for a game, then the Club is open every Sunday from ~midday till 5.30pm. Please visit the Club's facebook page Here.

Great Saturday morning start as keen gamers kicked off early.
We had about 12 tables of Board gaming before lunch.

With all the Club's events, you are welcome to bring your games to share.
A quick count of the gathered collection on the first day we got upto 120+ games.

We also had a lot of Tabletop games on offer.

Whats in da Gaming hood

So much gaming going on, and real life that I haven't posted much recently. I laugh as I've been told some gnat has been spreading the word that I'm getting out of Warhammer Fantasy Battle. From the Horses mouth the game is strong as it every was and we have recently picked up about 7 new players at our local club. So nah gnat you've got it wrong :) Enjoying the variety of systems that are out there and here's some of the stuff I've got on the hobby table.

It's a giant and yes I'm a hobbyist first yo.

The unit of ogres I fired together out of spare bits on the way to 1000pts for our
local WHFB League. currently have 24 playing which busted the 20spaces we initially had space for. Apologies to the guys on the wait list but the club has to cater space for other systems too.
Sculpted a head for second hand Skragg. Also picked up a Hunter too from a swap meet.
Best way to get into the game if you're new or a vet. So much cheaper than retail.
Zapped together some random markers for my Bloodbowl.
Managed to pick up a new faction.
I was lucky enough to pick up Alexia and the risen too. 50pts complete!
Some spare bits and that meant I could develop more of my minimal sculpting skills.
 Here's the 85% WIP.

Thats a quick friday blog. I'll finish off the ETC blogging with results
and a few other tidbits. Enjoy your weekend.

On the Painting table & Club day

Must keep blogging to inspire the painting. Progress has been very slow. Etched out some painting to the Ogres and now have a second unit with a front rank coloured down. The more colour they get the more inspired I get with the hobby. Must finish army before the New year rolls around.

Front rank of the second unit of Ironguts.
Tyrant, Slaughtermaster and Bruiser in the second rank.

Maneaters recylced from my old Chaos Ogres.
Almost happy with them.

So some progress over the last few weeks. I've had too much other stuff on and of course X-Wing has taken a lot of painting time away :)

Club Day Sunday saw a big turnout for our club X-Wing Aces Tourney. 32pt Furballs meant we hosted 14 pilots. With a host of other games being played including WHFB, WH40K, and lots of board Games. We had a total of 43 gamers enjoying a fun relaxed Sunday of hobbies.

If you're a Gamer/Hobbyist and want to get some games in with fellow like minded individuals. Get on down to our club. We welcome everyone and this weekend we are likely to see WHFB, WH40K, X-Wing, Board Gaming, Warmachine and a whole lot more.
