Equinox Placings Part II

Results for the WH40K tournament and the Flames of War tournament. Little bit of a delay as real life stole some of my time recently, so straight back to the hobby.

The Juggernaut of the NZ 40K scene Running his Cron's. Charlie has won every Equinox so far and if he did a Threepeat then the Cup was all his to keep in his trophy stash cabinet. We were secretly cheering him on. We have planned an awesome Trophy as a replacement for next year.

Equinox Flame of War:

Big ups for the Auckland City Guard's own taking out the trophy. The club is just starting back up and for the few games that have been the preparation to the sweet nectar of success it must of been nice to behold. Congratulations!

Equinox Pics Part 2

We tried to get as many prizes back into the community as possible at Equinox.
Future tournaments we will try and dedicate spending on building up the terrain the Tournament has access to. Currently we have 4 tables of terrain and a big thanks needs to go to everyone who helped in sponsoring terrain tables so the tournament could have some scenery. Auckland City guard and East Auckland Elites let us use their terrain so thanks goes out to the two main wargaming clubs in Auckland.

Some of the Competitors who took home the swag at the tournament.

Equinox 2013 Placings

We had epic clashes all tournament amongst the contenders at the top of the table. Even with 40+ competitors the top dogs of the tournament had no where to hide and there was no dodging each other. I think everyone in the top five played each other. Ogres fought Bretonnians and Chaos Dwarfs battled Warriors. After all the dust had settled the soft scores and a tiebreak decided the tournament.

Best Painted: Dave Hart

There was one vote in it and two clear leaders in the painting field. The standard in painting overall was exceptionally high. It was a pleasure to have such well painted armies at the tournament, keep it up tournament goers.

Best Sport: Sam whitt

Another perfect tournament for sports and the level of good generalship and behaviour made me proud to host you guys . It reflects how the game should be played in a friendly but competitive manner. Just remember that if your opponent makes a mistake or his ruler is a little on the stretchy side, it's curtesy for you to mention it to him politely. He may not even know that he's doing it. Good friendly conversation goes a long way to making it both an enjoyable experience and game for you both. The last thing is if your opponent is beating you, that's not enough to mark your opponent down in sports points, you just have to play better next time.

Just a Quick note that I still have a Island of Blood set or a Dark Vengeance set to give to one luck person who has purchased or will purchase something with their 20% off GW RRP discount from VAGABONDS TAKAPUNA. Please contact Doug on : dosainsbury@gmail.com. This offer goes on until the end of the week (March 23rd) and I will draw the winning big or little spender for the win.

A tournament is all about its players. Equinox this year had plenty of people getting their game on. Having maximum fun playing and puching around the hobby that we all love.

In the thick of battle..

 Club mates face off...

 First tournament is the best...

Win the tournament 3 times you keep the trophy...

A little bit later this happened. Necrons feast on some Eldar.

More photo's to come and the 40K results.

Equinox 2013 The Weekend

Huge amounts of pictures to come later. Battle reports, tid bits and the all important results.
Sit back and enjoy.

Onlookers, " This is what Wargaming is all about. Strutting your stuff when it counts."

I am so happy to be at Equinox!

We even had Warhammer celebrities at the venue.

Results and more pictures to come, until then.

All the lists will be released to tournament goers tonight. Don't forget to check your email inbox. Just to entertain you with the myriad of formatting you still get these days, they have been included as is. It was time consuming as it was correcting the 48 lists so they could be easily transported to a word doc. I think I would have gone slightly mad if I had to format them into the templates that were sent out. Granted the templates probably corrupted depending on the computer systems everyone uses.

Equinox 2013 WHFB Lists so far.

With two very cool new Army books released in succession Fantasy players are hoarding up to get on the table top up here in Auckland. We're only letting the new Warriors book to play at Equinox and the Daemon players will be saying a last hoorah in a couple of weeks. Lists were due last night and I haven't looked at them much. It will be a job for later tonight after work and tomorrow night. Once they are done they will be posted on google docs for all contestants before the tournament. I do have a summary of the lists coming so far as we still have a few late lists but here is the Break down.

Warriors of Chaos   7
Ogres   5
O & G  5
Lizardmen 3
Dark Elves 3
Empire 3
Daemons 3
Skaven 3
BRetonnians 2
Beastmen 2
Wood Elves 2
High Elves 2
Chaos Dwarves 2
Tomb King 1
Vampire Counts 1

As to be expected Warriors a popular with their new book. Nothing like the numbers people were thinking were invading from the chaos wastes but thats to be expected with NZ wargaming. Most of our hobbyists like to be loyal and stick to the army they are familiar and have played most of their hobby lives.

Looking forward to the Tournament yet fellow Wargamers, I sure am!
